Disrupting the space
@EarthMoonMars
Future concepts and space applications to promote biodiversity and animal welfare and reduce animal testing. Space Agencies should, we think, should lead the world in how we treat other sentient beings [including humans] but they don't. Yet this will become increasingly important as space travel, space tourism and space mining take off. See file and table below.The table shows assumed funds spent on preparing for manned flights [the Human Space Flight sections] that may never happen and these must include animal trials. See reference below. Is all this money and animal testing needed on an off-chance of a manned-mission to Mars? Surely a fraction of that budget could be tuned to more animal friendly work?
space4 shows this could be possible by designing entrepreneurial proposals in key issues of space. These are planetary habitation, co-habitation, isolation, dust [yes dust] , bone loss and radiation . Then putting these designs up for discussion and feedback. Why do this? MONEY. Its everything in space agencies and with competing projects on relatively small budgets, animal welfare is way down the priority list. space4 aims to show that consideration of animal sentience and welfare could actually save/make money boost support for manned space exploration. In other words the space agencies should embrace the themes of PAWWSS and RATSS.
Currently the RSPCA [UK] and Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics agree [if not formally support] with space4 [08/09/2014] that this an issue we need to address. Space Agencies take note.
